We are delighted to inform you that Valtonet Group (Pty) Ltd now meets the threshold of being a VAT vendor for the South African Revenue Services (SARS). As of 22 April 2021, Valtonet Group (Pty) Ltd is now a registered VAT vendor and will be collecting 15% VAT on every invoice sent to you.
The VAT Act requires that all prices advertised or quoted in respect of a taxable supply of goods or services must include VAT, or alternatively, that the advertisement or quotation must reflect the VAT cost, the VAT exclusive price and the VAT inclusive price.
Holding all factors constant, the introduction of value added tax (VAT) results in an increase in price. However, our management board has passed a decision not to increase our current prices, but rather adjust prevailing prices into VAT inclusion until further notice. To that end, VAT will not have any financial effect (other than cash flow) on VAT registered businesses because the VAT paid is then reclaimed. The VAT implementation will affect mainly anyone who is not VAT registered as he/she will not be able to claim it.
